Smelloff ("we", "us", "our") operates smelloff.in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website or make a purchase.

Information we collect

• Personal: name, email, phone number, shipping address, and pincode — collected when you place an order or sign up for updates
• Payment: accepted via UPI (manual confirmation) or Cash on Delivery. We do not store card or UPI details on our servers
• Usage: pages visited, device type, browser, referrer — via Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel, using anonymised cookies

How we use your information

• Process and ship your orders
• Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery notifications
• Provide customer support via email, phone, or WhatsApp
• Send occasional marketing updates (only if you opt in)
• Improve our website, product, and advertising through analytics
• Comply with legal obligations (GST, consumer protection, etc.)

Who we share it with

We share minimum necessary information with:

• Courier partners (Delhivery, Blue Dart, XpressBees, India Post) for delivery
• Supabase (our order database) and Vercel (hosting) for processing and storing your order
• Google Analytics and Meta for anonymised traffic analytics
• Google Customer Reviews — if you accepted cookies and gave us an email address, we pass your order number and email address to Google after you place a Cash on Delivery order, so Google can ask you to rate the order. Google shows you an opt-in box first; if you decline it, or if you rejected cookies, or if you did not give us an email address, nothing is sent. You can read Google's description of the programme.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

How payment works

Smelloff accepts payments via UPI (automated verification) and Cash on Delivery only.

• UPI: You pay from any UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM) or scan the QR code. Your transaction is verified automatically, and your order is confirmed immediately upon successful payment.
• COD: No advance payment. Pay ₹289 (including ₹60 handling fee) in cash to the delivery agent on arrival.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for session management, analytics (GA4), and advertising (Meta Pixel). You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not function correctly.

Data retention

We retain order information for as long as legally required (minimum 7 years for GST records). You can request deletion of your account or marketing data at any time by emailing [email protected].

Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been processed
• Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations — e.g., GST records must be kept for 7 years)
• Right to grievance redressal: Lodge a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below) and receive a response within 15 days
• Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time by emailing [email protected]
• Right to nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity

Analytics cookies and consent

We use Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity for anonymised traffic analytics, and Google Customer Reviews to invite order ratings. These are all non-essential and are only loaded after you give explicit consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.

• If you accepted: analytics cookies are active. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or emailing us.
• If you rejected or have not yet chosen: no analytics or advertising cookies are loaded.
• Essential cookies (session management, order state) are always active as they are required for the site to function.

Security

Your data is stored on secure servers (Supabase, with a Google Sheets backup, hosted via Vercel). UPI payments are confirmed manually by our team within 24 hours of receiving your transaction ID. We take reasonable precautions but cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats.

Children

Smelloff products are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
