Smelloff ("we", "us", "our") operates smelloff.in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website or make a purchase.
Information we collect
- Personal: name, email, phone number, shipping address, and pincode — collected when you place an order or sign up for updates
- Payment: processed securely via Razorpay (UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking) or Cash on Delivery. We do not store card numbers, CVVs, or UPI PINs on our servers
- Usage: pages visited, device type, browser, referrer — via Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel, using anonymised cookies
How we use your information
- Process and ship your orders
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery notifications
- Provide customer support via email, phone, or WhatsApp
- Send occasional marketing updates (only if you opt in)
- Improve our website, product, and advertising through analytics
- Comply with legal obligations (GST, consumer protection, etc.)
Who we share it with
We share minimum necessary information with:
- Razorpay Software Private Limited (our payment gateway partner) for processing secure online payments (UPI, cards, net banking)
- Courier partners (Delhivery, Blue Dart, XpressBees, India Post) for delivery
- Supabase (our order database) and Cloudflare (hosting) for processing and storing your order
- Google Analytics and Meta for anonymised traffic analytics
- Google (Gemini API) to answer messages you type into the support chat. We do not store chat messages; if you ask about an order, we check it against our order database and share only its status and tracking details with you
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
How payment works
Smelloff accepts payments online via Razorpay (UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking) and Cash on Delivery.
- Online Payment (Razorpay / UPI / Cards): Pay securely via UPI, cards, or net banking using the Razorpay Standard Checkout. Payment confirmation is instant and automated upon successful transaction.
- COD: No advance payment required. Pay in cash to the delivery agent on arrival (₹89 handling fee applies).
Cookies
Our website uses cookies for session management, analytics (GA4), and advertising (Meta Pixel). You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not function correctly.
Data retention
We retain order information for as long as legally required (minimum 7 years for GST records). You can request deletion of your account or marketing data at any time by emailing info@smelloff.in.
Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been processed
- Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations — e.g., GST records must be kept for 7 years)
- Right to grievance redressal: Lodge a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below) and receive a response within 15 days
- Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time by emailing info@smelloff.in
- Right to nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
To exercise any of the above rights, email info@smelloff.in with your request. We will respond within 15 business days.
Analytics cookies and consent
We use Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity for anonymised traffic analytics. These are all non-essential and are only loaded after you give explicit consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.
- If you accepted: analytics cookies are active. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or emailing us.
- If you rejected or have not yet chosen: no analytics or advertising cookies are loaded.
- Essential cookies (session management, order state) are always active as they are required for the site to function.
Security
Your data is stored on secure servers (Supabase, with a Google Sheets backup, hosted on Cloudflare). UPI payments are confirmed manually by our team within 24 hours of receiving your transaction ID. We take reasonable precautions but cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats.
Children
Smelloff products are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
